Performance of "Hymn to Freedom" will take place at 9:30am!
Dear Campus View Families: We encourage you to join in the Music Monday celebrations on May 4th! The Coalition of Music Education in Canada will be presenting a 12 hour digital broadcast featuring performances, messages, activites and a very special virtual choir performance of Oscar Peterson's "Hymn to Freedom" which we hope the students can sing along with. Let's join together to celebrate the importance of music and music education in Canada! Where can I access the celebrations? 1) Website: https://coalitioncanada.ca/musicmonday/en/ 2) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CoalitionCanadaCA/ 3) YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTjk-DsFWM6XNiq9HeUpLKA Music Monday @ Home Schedule (in BC Time) MONDAY, May 4, 2020
If you have a chance, I would absolutely love if you could send me an email on Monday to let me know how your family is enjoying this celebration. It would make me very happy to hear from you. Have fun everyone. I'm going to listen for your voices.... Happy Music Monday! Miss Onuma Hello everyone!
Wishing you a great week and hoping that everyone is doing well. Music Monday is coming up next week so please continue to practice the Music Monday song "Hymn to Freedom" this week if you can. I will post more details about that online event by Friday. Please check back for that. Also, if any of my current ukulele students would like to go back and test for recorder belts, they are definitely most welcome to do so! I am really happy to have heard from some students. I love receiving your activities and even just hearing how you are doing. Sincerely, Miss Onuma Hello everyone,
Miss Onuma is inviting you to check out her "Music Choice Boards"! Grade 2/3 Music Choice Board Grade 4/5 Music Choice Board Students can work at their own pace to complete the music activities on this board. When they have finished an activity, they are invited to colour in that square. This is a fun way for the students to have a music goal to work towards at their own pace over several weeks. (If you are unable to print out the board, they could keep track of activities they completed on a piece of paper). I would love to see some of the creations the students make while completing these activities. Please send them to me in the "Submit Materials" tab, "Contact tab" or to my email address. I hope everyone has fun doing these activities! Sincerely, Miss Onuma Hello everyone!
I would like all my students to practice this year's Music Monday song called "Hymn to Freedom". Please find the song lyrics and video to sing along with under the "More" tab or by clicking on the blue "Music Monday" words above. I will provide more information about this online event soon but I'm hoping many of us can participate together on Monday, May 4th! Miss Onuma Dear Campus View Families,
Please visit this website regularly for music activities that can be done at home. I will keep this blog udpated so that I can point out new additions and provide information as we go along. Students who have recorders or ukuleles at home are encouraged to continue working through our class curriculum and testing online to earn belts or flowers. I can't wait to listen to their recordings! If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me. Sincerely, Miss Onuma |
